In today’s busy world, most people are familiar with doing things and are less familiar with the concept of being. Yet as human beings, finding the balance between being and doing will actually move us toward health, joy, success and fulfillment. Engaging in mindfulness practices can bring more inner peace, joy and effectiveness to all areas of your life.

Mindfulness is more than just a tool. It is a state of mind, and a way of life that teaches us to be aware of the present moment experience of your sensations, thoughts, feelings, and the surrounding environment non-judgmentally, with kindness and an open mind.

There are numerous evidence-based research about the benefits of mindfulness on our health and well-being. Engaging in mindfulness practices can help you develop greater awareness, emotional self-regulation and concentration skills, as well as cultivate more wisdom, compassion and love.  This can lead to reduced stress, increased productivity and creativity, improved relationships, and better decision making. 

A typical Mindfulness session includes a talk related to a mindfulness topic, a couple of guided mindfulness practices, and discussion. 

In mindfulness, the informal practices are referred to mindfulness, and the formal practices are referred to as meditation. Whether you are new to meditation, or are an experienced practitioner, these classes provide valuable insights and techniques to learn or deepen your self-awareness and compassion through meditation.

Introduction to Mindfulness for Adults

This is a 75-minute class for adults who are interested to learn what mindfulness is and the common misconceptions of mindfulness, as well as experience a 15-minute guided mindfulness practice in a small group. There will also be a brief Q&A session held in English and Cantonese.

Building Resilience: Foundations of Mindfulness Course

 This is a 12-hour Foundations of Mindfulness course offered in 4 to 6 parts. Participants will learn mindfulness of the body, mindfulness of feelings and emotions, mindfulness of thoughts, and compassion. Each session will include a talk, guided mindfulness practices, and Q&A. 

Introduction to Mindfulness for Children

Utilizing the curriculum of Mindful Schools for classrooms, participants will learn what mindfulness is, and experience short guided mindfulness practices in an interactive way. Each small-group session is 40 minutes in duration.
